Pottery is like ceramic, a very generic term.  It is usually refer to items made from common clays. 

陶器は、磁器と比べて柔らかいことも多く一般的に少し強度が弱い場合もあります。磁器が石を細かく砕いたものから作っているのに対し、土から作られています。

It is often handmade by the artist, or craftsperson using their hands, molds, or a potter's wheel.

磁器より手作りしやすく、磁器が型作りなど機械化されていることも多いのに対し、手作りで作家さんが作られていることも多いです。

It is mostly fired at lower temperatures, sometimes as low as 800 degrees.

８００度ぐらいの低めの温度で焼かれるものもあります。

Porcelain is made by ceramic stone powder　磁器は、石をパウダー状にしたものでできています。

Porcelain is usually refer to items made from the highest quality ceramics. Ceramic stone powder  (ex.Kaolin) is used in the manufacture.

It's useally pure white and vitreous. It's translucence. You can see a shadow of your finger through it if you hold it up to the light. It gives a ringing sound when tapped. 

磁器は、光を通します。明りに指をかざすと、指の影が、磁器を通ります！たたくと高いきれいな音がします。くれぐれもたたきすぎにはご注意を(笑)

It is mostly fired at higher temperatures, 1250-1400 degrees.

１２５０～１４００度の高めの温度で焼かれるので比較的丈夫です。
